- You have to have a passport interview. first of all they say it's for identity theft purposes i.e. to see if it's me or someone pretending to be me. This is bonkers because I hardly want to be me so why would anyone want to pretend to be me?

The next thing I rung up to arrange an interview. "Your nearest is carlisle" I said "Can you tell me when I can go at newcastle and carlisle" (reasonable request eh? I would have gone newcastle on weekday and carlisle on weekend) "The system doesn't work like that". OK, next reasonable question "where abouts in carlisle is the office and where in newcastle is it?"(i.e. if one of them is out of town I can go there without paying a zillion quid for parking and not have to travel into the city centre). the only response I got was "carlisle is your nearest office, it is x miles away. newcastle is y miles away".

caved in went for newcastle. Right in the middle of the city centre. the dippy bint emailed me directions - by rail/metro, by bus and by foot. I had to spend an hour on google street view looking for it. Why do these things have to be in the city centre? surely it's better to have it on the outskirts with it's own parking spaces - pull in jump out of car have interview, jump into car go home.

Fucking bureaucrats.

These new passports are the next stage in totalitarian orwellism. They bring you down there to get your biological details. The more they know about you the less they have to fear you. It's scary shit. I'm renewing my UK passport this month and I have to go in, give my life story and my DNA, and probably receive some sort of anal probe before they 'allow' me to have a passport and receive the fundamental human right of free travel.

Then the Isrealis just go ahead and forge a bunch anyway and carry out an assasanation on foreign soil. But it's OK, the holocaust and all that, shhhh.

Great stuff, I have to jump through a million hoops yet they can just forge them easily and travel around on fake passports. Fucking useless, the government couldn't organise a pissup in a brewery and they go around telling me how to live my life and have that 'we know best' attitude. It's the same if not worse in Australia. The Victorian government has spent millions on advertising the fact that they are fixing the railway system, yet I had to wait over an hour for a train last night to travel 6km of the way across 'the most liveable city in the world'! Piss off telling me you're doing it and bloody do it!!

tldr; I hate being told what's best by my government yet they themselves are fucking useless and we should revolt.

i had the passport interview tooday - they didn't require finger, thumb prints, retina scans or colonic map. I offered to wank but it was not required.

The interview was conducted by what I can only assume was a robot or cyborg...in fact I am pretty sure that most of the civil service are going that way - why else is swartzenegger govenor of california?. The strike on Monday was not a strike, there was a major software upgrade due.

Lol, I thought I lost the deluxe cd, but it was right next to my computer. didn't really think to look there. Oh well, now I'l have two deluxe cd + dvds!

+ had an awesome road tour on friday up in scotland. pretty awesome.
- Morrisons in Newcastle seem to be selling duff diesel at the minute. On the way to scotland, a sedate motorway journey, I got a really bad MPG (48). Topped up at glasgow (theirs is actually OK - i then had 50:50 crap & good stuff) it was at 59MPG - expecting about 62-64. Had to fill up again at mozzas yesterday - 48 MPG - so be warned people.
-They charge £1.14 a litre for that shite.

It was a private number she called from. She sounded hot and young, so I really didn't care how she got my number. She said she would call again later.

+ just had 5 days off

In that time I managed the following...

- broke the washing machine
- crashed my car
- got ill and vomited my medication all over my antique coffee table
- got stuck on a coach load of singing german tourists for just under 2 hours
- got pooped on by a bird

+ Back to work now. Should be safe here..
+ Did come back to find that a crazy homeless man has been sleeping in the building my office is in. The owner found him brandishing a broken bannister after he got locked in the lift over the weekend. Bizarre.
